About Us

The Douglas J. Aveda Institute, located in Knoxville, Tenn., provides students hands-on cosmetology training in a modern facility. Our school's professional instructors focus on building the foundation students need to become beauty artists, by teaching students the most modern techniques and thought processes of the beauty industry.

Cosmetology Program

At Douglas J. Aveda Institute, our unique 1,500-hour Cosmetology program focuses on exploring the latest styles and techniques in hair cutting and styling, skincare, nail care, and makeup. Cosmetology classes are mixed between demonstrations, lectures and hands-on experience in our new clinics.

Esthiology Program

Our Esthiology program explores international trends in techniques to purify, balance and renew skin, along with makeup application. This program teaches students the foundation needed to be a skin care professional, including how to perform facials, hair removal, body treatments, makeup application and other skin care treatments.
