Delaware Barber (Cosmetologist) License Renewal

Delaware barbers must renew your licenses by March 31 of even-numbered years.  Renewal fees are equal to your original licensure fee. Currently, no continuing education hours are required to renew.

Delaware Barber License Reciprocity or Transfer

The Delaware Board of Cosmetology & Barbering can help with barber license transfers. Delaware accepts applications for reciprocity for licensees from other states. The first method for transferring your license says that if your home state’s training and testing requirements are equivalent to Delaware’s, no notarization or testing are required. The second method of transferring your barber’s license to Delaware is if your home state’s requirements are not equivalent, you will need a notarized statement from your employer verifying that you were licensed and worked for at least 5 years. The cost of transferring your license to Delaware varies.
