Pennsylvania Barber License Renewal

Barber licenses in PA expire on April 30 of every even-numbered year. You should receive a renewal notice two to three months prior to your license’s expiration date, but even if you do not receive that letter you are responsible for renewing your license. The fees to renew are as follows: barber – $42, barber manager – $62, barber shop owner – $72, barber school – $112, barber teacher – $67.

Pennsylvania Barber License Reciprocity or Transfer

You can earn a Pennsylvania barber license by reciprocity without examination if you have a current barber license in a State with which Pennsylvania has an agreement of reciprocity. The licensing board in your home state must send a certification letter verifying your current licensure status. If the states do not have reciprocity with PA, you may be able to apply for licensure by endorsement and take the theory exam.
