Wyoming Board of Barbering & Wyoming Barber License

Updated July 29, 2013

Wyoming State Flag

Currently all barber licensing in Wyoming falls under the WY State Board of Barber Examiners in Cheyenne.

Wyoming Barber License Requirements

– You must be a graduate of a state-recognized school and have taken and passed an associated board exam.

– You must have at least 1000-hours work experience or 1-year of directly associated work experience.

– Provide proof of legal presence in United States – worker documents, citizenship, etc.

Wyoming Barber License Renewal

In order to renew, one must provide their provided renewal form. If a replacement form is needed, the cost is $5. Renewals are granted for 2-year periods. The cost for a renewal is $96.

Wyoming Barber License Reciprocity or Transfer

The terms of reciprocity and transfer of licenses from other states are parallel to the general license requirements above. The applicant’s previous merits must include appropriate schooling and board exam, 1000-hours or 1-year of work experience, and legal proof of presence in the US. If these items have been achieved in another state, the requirements will be considered satisfied for transfer. In addition, it is important to note that apprenticeships and previous “grandfathered licenses” are not at all recognized by the WBC.
